HIGHED 603 Professional Seminar in Higher Education


This seminar provides the foundation that is needed to understand the purposes, benefits and challenges that provide the context for content and research courses in the Higher Education Administration Doctoral Program; the key higher education drivers of quality, access, affordability, autonomy and accountability; the internal and external environments and constituencies that control and/or influence colleges and universities; and it provides an understanding of the important compo9nents of leadership, change, diversity, social justice and engagement that provide direction in urban institutions of higher education. It also provides new doctoral students with an understanding of the program requirements and faculty expectations.

Prerequisite(s): Graduate students in HIGHED only
