PUBHTH 480 Global Health Practicum

This course is designed to serve as the capstone experience in students’ senior year of the Global Health concentration for the Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Sciences in Urban Public Health. Students will spend 240 hours (equivalent to 10h/week for two semesters) in a practicum in the greater Boston area. During the practicum students will provide the global health organization or program with their time, knowledge, and effort, and will, in return, gain experience in the organization, development, implementation, and/or evaluation of global health projects. An integral piece of this practicum or capstone experience is to demonstrate the integration of knowledge and skills present in the Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science curricula. The practicum will include regular seminar discussions on the relationship between the practicum experience and the theoretical and academic framework from which it is derived.

Prerequisites: ANTH 317 and PHIL 100 and 220 and CDVCTR 301
