APLING 683 - Global & Digital Technologies for Linguistically Diverse Classrooms

3 Credit(s)

Description:
Digital technologies are transforming the ways we teach and learn. This course seeks to familiarize students with global and digital technologies so that they design curricula for linguistically and culturally diverse learners. Students will draw on research about multimodality and sociocultural theory in language learning to understand and differentiate learning for students in a local context. Students will also explore the implications of the growing use of technologies in transnational and global literacies and the possibilities in a variety of educational settings, including K-12, college, and adult classrooms. Our evolving understanding of the texts and connections available to our students will contribute to informed policy, curriculum and pedagogy choices.
