Description: The purpose of this course is to examine several of the better known Afro-Caribbean religious movements that have played a major role in the modern history of the Caribbean region. Historical influences from Europe, Africa and the Americas will be addressed. The course provides an introduction to the anthropological study of religion and to the field of Caribbean studies. Capabilities addressed: Critical reading, critical thinking, clear writing, information technology.
