Description: A survey of Mesoamerican ethnology including an introduction to cultural and linguistic regions through comparisons of ethnographic materials. Emphasis is given to acculturation, during the colonial period, among indigenous and Spanish-speaking populations, and, in the contemporary period, on social change among rural and urban sectors.
