SOCIOL 383L - Men’s Lives in the US 3 Credit(s) | Lecture | Course can be counted for credit once
Description: An investigation in the contemporary U.S. of the experiences of men and the social construction of masculinities, as they emerge in various realms of experience (family, work, college, sexuality, war, imprisonment) and in conjunction with other constructed identities (social class, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation). We will consult various theories on gender and examine a range of perspectives on “men’s issues.” AMST 383L and SOCIOL 383L are the same course.
