Description: From the mid twentieth century, the African continent and the islands of the Caribbean have been connected through the African Diaspora. Both locations have produced playwrights inspired by a mix of traditional African rituals, the Western European theatre tradition, colonial histories, and the various social and political upheavals through which many of them have lived.
