Description: The study of literature for children, including criticism and the history of the development of literary materials written specifically for children. The works studied-by such authors as Lewis, Grahame, Wilder, and Milne-are explored in the context of the historical and cultural settings in which they were produced, and the texts are analyzed both as works of art and as instruments of cultural and didactic impact.
Enrollment Requirements: Prerequisite: ENGL 200 or ENGL 201 or ENGL 202
