Description: This course provides a survey of the origin, rise and development of ancient Greek civilization from the arrival of the Greeks in Europe until the death of Cleopatra (approximately 1600-30 BC). Emphasis is placed on the rise of the Greek city-state and the spread of Greek culture to the East. CLSICS 301L and HIST 301L are the same course.
Enrollment Requirements: Prerequisite: One 200-level or higher CLSICS or HIST course or permission of instructor
