Description: This course is broadly concerned with the mutual influences of mass media and society. It will address media institutions, products, and audiences, as well as the global circulation of media, media literacy, and visual culture. Topics may include film, news media advertising, novels, and social media technologies and their influence on cultural practices and everyday life.
Enrollment Requirements: Prerequisite: SOCIOL 101 (and SOCIOL 102 for sociology majors)
