Description: This course introduces students to economic thinking about society and social change and investigates the functioning and transformation of capitalist societies. It also introduces major concepts and theories of economic and social change, including globalization, neoliberalism, and financialization. We also look at world events including the causes and consequences of the Great Recession of 2008.
Enrollment Requirements: Prerequisite: SOCIOL 101 (and SOCIOL 102 for sociology majors)
