ENGL 276G - The Art of Life Writing 3 Credit(s) | Lecture | Course can be counted for credit once
Description: Introduction to life writing. Close analytical reading of memoirs, personal essays, biographies and autobiographies with special attention to a writer’s historical and cultural milieu, and to a writer’s choices of form (including narrative points of view, setting, characterization, scene and summary, figurative language, and representations of speech). Please note: Students may receive credit either for this course or for CORE C120 (Controversy), but not for both. This course may count toward the major or minor in English. Capabilities addressed: Critical reading, critical thinking, clear writing, academic self-assessment, collaborative learning, information technology, oral presentation.
