Description: This course builds on NURSNG 741, applying models of policy analysis and theoretical perspectives to the critical examination of specific health policies. The course studies the historical, political, economic, and social context in which the policies emerged, as well as the specific actors involved. Emphasis is given to health policies affecting the aged and urban family population. Case studies are presented, and participants are introduced to a variety of methods for analyzing, formulating, and evaluating health policy. The policies examined in the course may include those confronting students in their own workplace or practice.
