UPCD 643L - The Political Economy of International Migration 3 Credit(s) | Lecture | Graded Not repeatable for credit
Description: The aim of the course is to introduce students to the major issues associated with the economic consequences of migration. Students will gain an understanding of the theoretical reasons why people migrate. Many of these reasons are economic, but the resulting dynamic is a lasting relationship between the sending and receiving country. As a result of the development of transnational identities these ties include remittances, political participation, and economic opportunities for both countries.
Course Note CRSCAD 643L and UPCD 643L are the same course.
