Description: The objective of this course is to provide foundations of Financial Economics at the micro and macro levels. It covers constrained optimization techniques, expected utility theory, firm decisions, and investment under uncertainty, which are used to derive individual behaviors in capital markets. It introduces economic growth and general equilibrium which help students understand how the macroeconomic dynamic is driven by aggregated individual behaviors. It also covers agency frictions, such as limited commitment and moral hazard, and their implications for the financial sector.
