Description: This course focuses on the historical and contemporary issues that shape the political, social and cultural practices and experiences of Latinidad in the United States. Topics include: colonialism, imperialism, race, ethnicity, class, gender, sexuality, feminisms, migration, diaspora, language, and new/media representations and participation. This is the required gateway course for the Latino Studies minor.
