NURSNG 722 - Improving Outcomes: Identification, Interventions, and Evaluation of Quality Improvement Activities 3 Credit(s) | Lecture | Graded Not repeatable for credit
Description: This course includes review of theoretical frameworks and models for improvement science. Students design and implement processes to evaluate outcomes of practice, practice patterns and systems of care within a practice setting, health care organization or community. National benchmarks and best-practice standards are used to determine variances in practice outcomes. Emphasis is placed on rigorous analytic methods to critically evaluate quality improvement outcomes and impact. Approaches to solving actual problems in clinical settings are considered, with emphasis on patients with chronic illnesses and other vulnerable populations. Students gain familiarity with quality improvement methods from management, policy and clinical perspectives.
Enrollment Requirements: Pre-requisite = Graduate student in College of Nursing or permission
