Early Childhood Licensure PreK-2nd Grade Concentration

EECIS Concentration Declaration

Completion of EECIS Concentration Declaration Form after earning a minimum of 60 credits and at least one semester after admission to the College of Education and Human Development. Concentrations must be declared before 80 credits have been completed.

Concentration Requirements

Complete 15 credits from five courses including three required courses and two internships.

Second major: Students in this concentration must also have a second major in one of the liberal arts and sciences.
Residency: All courses for this concentration must be completed at UMass Boston.
Licensure: Students must pass the Massachusetts Test for Educational License (MTEL).
