2025-2026 Graduate Catalog
Admission Requirements
|
|
Applicants must meet general graduate admission requirements in addition to the following program-specific requirements:
- Familiarity with Physics at the level of upper level undergraduate work is expected.
- A grade of B or higher in calculus and higher-level math classes such as linear algebra, ordinary differential equations, and complex analysis.
- The primary requirement for admissions into the Applied Physics Master’s Program is evidence that the student will be successful in the program.
- Standardized tests are useful in establishing student’s general level of academic preparation. General GRE is required.
- While the GRE Physics subject test is not required, it is strongly recommended, as it allows for normative comparisons
- Three letters of recommendation are required. For students who have been away from academia for some time, it is acceptable to use letters from professional colleagues or supervisors. At least one letter should address the applicant’s academic preparedness
