Description: A survey of the myths of ancient Greece and Rome, this course introduces students to accounts of creation, myths of the gods, and stories of the heros. We also consider the literary, artistic and religious dimensions of myth. Readings include Homer, Hesiod, the Homeric Hymns, selected tragedies, and Ovid’s Metamophoses.
