Description: Film festivals play a key role in today’s global independent motion picture industry. They shape contemporary film culture and greatly impact communities outside of the film industry. In this course, students will be introduced to the history, structures and practices of today’s film festival world and their political, economic and aesthetic impact from a local and global, theoretical and practical perspective.
This is a hands-on, interactive course designed with the support of the Mellon Foundation.
