Degree Requirements

Major Requirements
Complete at least 36 credits from 12 courses including one introductory history course, three 200-level survey courses, seven electives, and one capstone. For all courses applied toward the major, at least one course must be in pre-1800 history and at least one course must fall into four out of five geographic breadth areas.
Pass/fail: No courses taken pass/fail may be applied toward the major.
Residency: At least six courses used for the major must be completed at UMass Boston.
